Katie Carman – The Cabinet

INFO

There's really only been one thing in life that Katie's wanted to do, and that is make movies.
Even from an early age, Katie was writing short stories and recording silly radio shows on her parent's home stereo system. Her interest in filmmaking started very early on when one winter she broke her wrist and couldn't hang out at the local ice skating rink with friends. Instead, her dad occupied her with every horror film he could get his hands on (much to her mother's dismay), thus starting her education in film.
In high school, Katie's interests remained in the creative arts where she was stage manager of her school's theater productions, and she excelled at still photography. The summer before graduation, she decided to explore filmmaking and attended Boston University's College of Communication's Institute for Radio, Film and Television Production. There she produced a short horror film, Roommates, and solidified her belief that filmmaking was her true calling.
Katie went on to graduate from the School of Visual Arts in New York City with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film Production and Editing. Since then she has gone on to produce several films, commercials and web series' including Know Your Nabe?, an informational "man on the street" quiz show she created for Big Apple Channel.com, The Dispatcher, a short film about a woman who finds herself working a temp job as the intermediary between heaven and hell, and most recently Eat Me!, an indie zombie comedy about a band of friends trying to survive the apocalypse, and their dwindling stash of smoke.
Katie's films have screened at a few festivals including NewFilmmakers Summer Series and the Long Island International Film Expo. She also enjoys shooting live music shows and dressing up like a zombie whenever possible. Her work can be seen at www.katiecarman.com.
