INFO
From Knoxville, Tennessee to Los Angeles, California, Matt Brown has been a part of entertainment for as long as he can remember. Starting off as a child actor in college productions, local commercials & theater troupes, Matt learned one thing, he was better behind the camera than in front of it. A directing career that spans two of his three decades and sixteen short films, there's nothing Matt loves more than a good story.
Attending Film School at North Carolina School of the Arts alongside David Gordon Green & Danny McBride from 1998 to 2000, he transferred to the University of Tennessee and graduating with a degree in Psychology. Matt moved to Los Angeles at the beginning of 2003 and began working as PA for his internship company, Jerry Bruckheimer Films. After such films as "Pirates of the Caribbean, King Arthur and Remember the Titans," he moved to assistant editing in 2005, and has been steadily working on documentaries, behind the scenes featurettes & reality TV. Currently working as a technical consultant for Atlas Digital, his main client is Pilgrim Films & TV, whose shows include "Dirty Jobs, American Chopper and Ghost Hunters." Matt is developing numerous projects that will establish himself as a director in his favorite medium, feature length motion pictures.
His first professional short film, "Rain Rain" is finishing up a successful festival run, garnering two "Best Short Film" Awards, three "Best Cinematography" Awards, and one "Best In Show" Award. After 20 plus film festivals, Matt is turning his attention to developing a feature version of the project and writing "Two Bricks Short," an intense Southern drama set around a troubled preteen and his estranged grandfather. He is also in post production on the hilariously disturbing web series "Storytime Tales: The Adventure of Black Pedro."
Matt Brown currently lives in Studio City, CA and loves history, mountain biking, classic muscle cars, salsa dancing and is learning the art of visual effects.
