

Tamika Lamison – Jar By The Door

Tamika, a Virginia native, graduated from The American University with a BA in Performing Arts/Theatre. While living and working as an actor in New York, she wrote her first screenplay "Jar By the Door" which was a Sundance Finalist and won several other awards including the Gordon Parks Independent Film Award and 10k. She then attended the New York Film Academy to learn filmmaking.
After expanding her filmmaking knowledge Tamika moved to Los Angeles and won several Fellowships and Awards in Writing and Directing including the ABC/Walt Disney Fellowship in Screenwriting for "Memoirs of A Virgin Whore"; The Guy Hanks and Marvin Miller (Cosby) Fellowship; and AFI's Directing Workshop for Women Fellowship in which she wrote, produced and directed the Award Winning short film "Hope" that aired nationally on every network. She later worked as Camera Operator and Director for the reality TV show, College Hill.
Tamika was invited to shadow on several Network shows, including CSI: New York, through programs like the CBS Director's Initiative. ??Tamika has produced several other short films including the award winning short film "The Male Groupie" which aired on HBO. The award winning short film "Spin" which she both produced and directed, still screens on the festival circuit. Tamika most recently wrote and directed a Spec for a Doritos Commercial Contest.
Nearest and dearest to Tamika is "Make A Film Foundation"- a non-profit organization that she Created and Founded.
